• We believe our one aim in life and death is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

    • God reveals how we do this through His Word, the Bible. Scripture is given by God through men inspired by the Holy Spirit, written in their own words yet fully “God-breathed,” infallible, and inerrant in the original writings. It is completely true and trustworthy, with God as its author, salvation as its purpose, and truth without error as its content. Therefore, it is the final authority for faith, practice, and all human conduct. All Scripture points to Christ, the center of divine revelation. (Ex. 24:4; Dt. 4:1-2; 17:19; Jos. 8:34; Ps. 19:7-10; 119:11,89,105,140; Psa. 144:15; Is. 34:16; 40:8; 43:7; Jer. 15:16; 36:1-32; Mt. 5:17-18; 22:29; Lk. 21:33; 24:44-46; Jn. 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Acts 2:16ff.; 17:11; Rom. 15:4; 16:25-26; 1 Cor. 10:31; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Pt. 1:25; 2 Pt. 1:19-21)

We believe in the Triune God.

    • God is, infinite, eternal, and incomparable—one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—our Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier, worthy of full trust. (Jn 4:24; Jer. 23:24; Mal. 3:6; Isa. 46:9-10; Dan. 4:35; Deut. 32:4; 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 1:30)

    We believe God is Creator.

    • He created all things in six literal days and governs all creation according to His purposes. Those who trust Him rest securely in His care. (Gen. 1–2; 1 Cor. 8:6; Col. 1:16; Job 33:4; Heb. 11:3; 2 Cor. 4:7)

We believe man was created in God’s image.

    • In the image of righteousness and holiness, under a covenant of obedience. However, by sin, humanity fell into corruption and misery. (Gen. 1:26; 2:7; 6:5; Ps. 51:5; Jer. 17:9; Rom. 3:12,23; 5:12,19; 1 Cor. 15:22; Eph. 2:1-2)

We believe that in Adam all humanity is fallen.

    • We are then placed under God’s wrath, corrupted in body and soul, enslaved to sin, and unable to save itself apart from God’s grace. (Rom. 5; 6:23; 8; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph. 2:1-9)

    We believe God elects.

    • In His sovereign love, God chose a people for Himself from eternity—not based on anything in them, but according to His sovereign will—to rescue them from sin and establish His kingdom. (Matt. 22:14; 24:22,31; Jn. 6:37-66; 13:18; 15:16; 17:6-24; Acts 13:38; 22:14; Rom. 8–9; 11:5-10; 1 Cor. 1:24-31; Eph. 1:4-11; 2:5,12; 1 Th. 1:4-5; 5:9; 2 Th. 2:13-14; 2 Tim. 1:9; 2:10; 1 Pet. 1:1-3; 2:8-10; Rev. 17:14)

    We believe God alone saves.

    • God redeems His people through Jesus Christ, His Son, who became man, lived perfectly, bore our sins on the cross, and exchanged our sin for His righteousness. By His blood we are declared righteous, trusting in Him alone and not in ourselves. (Matt. 1:21; 11:27; 20:28; Jn. 5:21; 10:11-16,25-28; 11:50-53; Rom. 3:26-28; 4:5-8; 5:1-17; 8:32-33; 10:9-10; Gal. 3:11; 5:5; Eph. 1:3-9; 5:25; Tit. 2:11-14; Heb. 9:15; Rev. 5:9)

We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the Spirit.

    • He was born of a virgin, lived sinlessly, died for our sins, rose for our justification, and now reigns at the Father’s right hand, interceding for His people and ruling over all things. (Matt. 1:20; Rom. 4:25; Eph. 1:20-23; 1 Cor. 15:1-8,27; Heb. 7:25)

We believe the Holy Spirit applies Christ’s redemption.

    • He does so by giving new birth, producing faith and repentance, uniting us to Christ, and transforming us to live in righteousness. (Ezek. 36:26; Jn. 1:12-13; 3:3; 5:21; 6:63; Acts 16:14; 18:27; Rom. 6; 8:9-14; Gal. 5:16-24; Eph. 2:1-10; Phil. 1:6,29; 2 Thess. 2:13-14; Heb. 12:1-2; 1 Pet. 1:1-3; 1 Jn. 5:1,20)

We believe those called and justified must walk by faith.

    • We walk by faith through the Spirit, growing in holiness and being conformed to Christ through God’s appointed means: His Word, prayer, fellowship, and faithful leadership. (Rom. 8:29-30; 2 Cor. 5:7; Gal. 2:20; 5:16; Eph. 2:11-15; 6:18; 1 Thess. 5:17; 2 Tim. 2:15; 3:15-17; Col. 4:2; Heb. 10:24-25; 12:14)

We believe the Church is the body of Christ.

    • The church is made up of believers saved by grace through faith alone in Christ alone. True believers grow in obedience and conformity to Christ. Any teaching contrary to the gospel is false, though all people are to be evangelized. God has ordained elders to lead and deacons to serve. The church observes two ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4:11; 1 Tim. 3; Titus 1)

We believe Christ will return in glory to judge all people.

    • Those in Christ will dwell with Him forever, made perfect in holiness and joy. (Matt. 24; Acts 1:11; 1 Cor. 15; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 2 Thess. 2; Jude; Rev.)

    We believe in evangelism.

    • Every believer is called to make disciples of all nations through faithful witness in word and life, empowered by the Spirit. (Gen. 12:1-3; Ex. 19:5-6; Is. 6:1-8; Mt. 9:37-38; 10:5-15; 13:18-30,37-43; 22:9-10; 24:14; 28:18-20; Lk. 10:1-18; 24:46-53; Jn. 14:11-12; 15:7-8,16; 17:15; 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2; 8:26-40; 10:42-48; 13:2-3; Rom. 10:13-15; Eph. 3:1-11; 1 Th. 1:8; 2 Tim. 4:5; Heb. 2:1-3; 11:39-12:2; 1 Pet. 2:4-10; Rev. 22:17)

We believe God is the source of all blessings.

    • Christians are stewards of their time, gifts, and resources and are to give generously for God’s glory and the good of others. (Gen. 14:20; Lev. 27:30-32; Dt. 8:18; Mal. 3:8-12; Mt. 6:1-4,19-21; 19:21; 23:23; 25:14-29; Lk. 12:16-21,42; 16:1-13; Acts 2:44-47; 5:1-11; 17:24-25; 20:35; Rom. 6:6-22; 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 4:1-2; 6:19-20; 12; 16:1-4; 2 Cor. 8–9; 12:15; Phil. 4:10-19; 1 Pet. 1:18-19)

We believe God alone is Lord of the conscience.

    • Church and state are distinct; the state must not control religion, and believers must obey authorities unless they contradict God’s Word. Religious liberty is essential. (Gen. 1:27; 2:7; Mt. 6:6-7,24; 16:26; 22:21; Jn. 8:36; Acts 4:19-20; Rom. 13:1-7; Gal. 5:1,13; Phil. 3:20; 1 Tim. 2:1-2; James 4:12; 1 Pet. 2:12-17; 3:11-17; 4:12-19)

We believe the family is ordained by God.

    • Marriage is between one man and one woman for life. Husbands are to lead in love, wives to submit in respect, and children to obey. Parents are to raise children in biblical truth. (Gen. 1:26-28; 2:15-25; Ex. 20:12; Dt. 6:4-9; Josh. 24:15; Ps. 127–128; Prov. 22:6; Eph. 5:21-33; 6:1-4; Col. 3:18-21; Heb. 13:4; 1 Pet. 3:1-7)

We believe Christians must seek to apply Christ’s will in society.

    • We should oppose sin and promote righteousness, caring for the needy, defending life, and living faithfully without compromising truth. (Ex. 20:3-17; Lev. 6:2-5; Dt. 10:12; 27:17; Ps. 101:5; Mic. 6:8; Zech. 8:16; Mt. 5:13-16,43-48; 22:36-40; 25:35; Mk. 10:21; Lk. 10:27-37; Jn. 15:12; Rom. 12–14; 1 Cor. 6; Gal. 3:26-28; Eph. 6:5-9; Col. 3:12-17; James 1:27; 2:8)

  • We are Christians

    • Christians: meaning we confess the one only living and true God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, took upon Himself our nature, yet without sin, to save His people from their sins. We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, and that all who truly repent and believe upon Him are justified, adopted, sanctified, and kept by the power of God. Our faith, hope, and life are founded wholly upon the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; Acts 4:12)

    We are Reformed Baptist

    • Reformed Baptists, meaning we gladly embrace the doctrines of grace and confess that the salvation of sinners is owing wholly to the sovereign mercy of God in Christ. We believe that the Father chose a people in Christ before the foundation of the world, that the Son redeemed them effectually by His blood, and that the Holy Spirit calls them powerfully by His Word to repentance and faith. As Baptists, we believe that those who do profess repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ are the only proper subjects of baptism, and that the churches of Christ are to be ordered according to His Word. (Eph. 1:4-5; Acts 2:38-41; Titus 3:5)

    We are Confessional

    • Confessional, meaning we do not hold the faith in a vague or private manner, but do willingly summarize the doctrine we believe the Scriptures teach. We esteem the historic confessions of the church, and especially the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689, not as an authority above or equal with Holy Scripture, but as a faithful and subordinate declaration of the faith once delivered to the saints. In this way we desire to preserve sound words, promote unity in truth, and guard the church from error. (2 Tim. 1:13; Jude 3; Acts 20:27-30)

    We are Progressive Covenantalists

    • Progressive Covenantalists: meaning we believe that God has revealed His redemptive purpose in history by means of covenants, all of which find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ and in the New Covenant established in His blood. We believe that the Law, the Prophets, and the promises given of old were preparatory and typological, and that in Christ the substance has come. We affirm with our New Covenant brethren that the New Covenant is the climactic and final covenant, that Christ is its Mediator, and that the people of God are constituted in Him. Yet we speak of this in covenantal terms because we believe the whole Bible unfolds by God’s covenantal design, progressively revealed and brought to completion in Christ. Thus we read all of Scripture through its fulfillment in Him, while maintaining both the unity of God’s saving purpose and the progress of His revelation. (Luke 24:27; 2 Cor. 1:20; Heb. 8:6-13)

    We are Gospel-Centered

    • Gospel-Centered, meaning the person and work of Jesus Christ crucified and risen stands at the heart of all we believe, teach, sing, and proclaim. We do not regard the gospel merely as the entrance into the Christian life, but as the constant ground of our peace with God, our growth in holiness, and our confidence in life and death. We desire that Christ and Him crucified would be the glory of our preaching, the comfort of our people, and the message we hold forth to the world. (1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 6:14; Col. 1:27-28)

    We are Elder-Led and Congregational

    • Elder-Led and Congregational: We are elder-led and congregational, meaning we believe Christ has given to His churches elders to shepherd the flock through the ministry of the Word and prayer, and that the gathered congregation bears the responsibility of receiving members, guarding doctrine, affirming leaders, and exercising discipline under the lordship of Christ. We believe this order best reflects the pattern set forth in the New Testament, where qualified men serve as overseers and the whole church walks together in truth, holiness, and love. (Acts 14:23; 1 Tim. 3:1-7; Matt. 18:15-20)

    We are Mission-Minded

    • We are mission-minded, meaning we believe the risen Christ has commanded His church to make disciples of all nations by the preaching of the gospel, the baptism of believers, and the teaching of all that He has commanded. We desire not merely to preserve the truth, but to proclaim it, trusting that God will gather His people through the foolishness of preaching and the faithful witness of His church. For this cause we labor, pray, give, send, and go, that the name of Christ may be known among all peoples. (Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 10:14-17; Rev. 7:9-10)
